Join us for a 10 week series on personal financial wellness. You can join us for the entire series or just 1 off classes that you are able to attend or are relevant to you.
You will learn and have accountability for critical ADULTING life skills including how to personally set a budget (aka a plan) for your money, track expenses, how to have conversations with your kids about money, learn information on saving, investing and paying off debt, learn important information about mortgages, insurance and taxes.
Registration cost is per couple living in the same household.
Lesson 2, Feb 12: Dumb Debt: Debt is a huge cause of stress and relational strain and having the right tools and being empowered to take steps to move forward is vital. Come learn the difference between good and dumb debt, how to avoid debt, how to get out of debt, and how to stay out of debt.
Lesson 3, Feb 19: Success with Short Term Savings: The importance of emergency funds, and saving for purchases as well as tools to help you do this successfully.
Lesson 4, Feb 26: Personal Taxes: Answering your questions on personal taxes and providing you with the tools to understand the things you need to know.
Lesson 5, Mar 4: Shop Wise: Learn how to meal plan, grocery shop, watch for sales and tools that can help you.
Lesson 6, Mar 11: Credit Score + Borrowing Basics: We will discuss how to build your credit score, why you need to have a healthy credit score and talk about various types of borrowing. We will also discuss the importance of and how to check your credit score for free.
Lesson 7, Mar 18 : Investing Basics: Learn the various investment tools we have in Canada, when to use them, who can use them and important things to know.
Lesson 8, Mar 25: Insurance + Wills: We are going to talk about the high importance of various kinds of insurance, a will, personal directives. An unbiased look at which kind of insurance you need and which ones you need to avoid.
Lesson 9, Apr 1: Financial Wellness in Relationships : learn skills on how to talk about money/finances with your family and friends including your spouse, parents, kids and friends. Let's remove the stigma about talking about finances.
Lesson 10, Apr 8: The Benefits of Giving Back: Learn tax advantages and just life advantages of why giving a portion of your money is beneficial.
Space is limited. At this time no childcare is available. This session is ideal for adults of ANY age and also great for high school seniors.
